Candle Maker- Production Associate

Duties:

  • Load wax melter with up to 50 lbs
  • Preparing jars, wicking, and setting wicks
  • Measure and mix essential oils
  • Hand pour candles
  • Stock inventory
  • Follow in-house recipes to create product
  • Fill bottles and jars with product
  • Follow documented practices to produce finished goods
  • Communicate proactively to keep supplies and raw materials in stock
  • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise
  • Communicate openly and directly with coworkers
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the production department and the company as a whole
  • Contribute on other tasks as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, you should be able to:

Regularly stand for extended periods of time
Move and/or lift between 15-40 pounds regularly and 41-50 pounds for short durations

Be most comfortable if you can tolerate a highly fragrant work environment.

Soap / Bath Product Maker

Natura Soy is seeking an individual for production of handcrafted bath care, home fragrance and aromatherapy products. We are looking for part-time (20-25 hours/week) with the possibility for growth.
A background in crafting, assembly, manufacturing or production is beneficial.

 

Responsibilities

Manufacture and package handmade bath care, home fragrance and aromatherapy products

Manage supplies and product inventory and maintain accurate formula, inventory and batch records.

Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and workplace safety protocols

Participate in staff meetings, strategic planning sessions and other workplace gatherings

Operate in line with our workplace values of: Passion, Presence, Integrity and Quality

Qualifications

18+ yrs or older
Experience making bath and body care products an asset

Reliable and punctual with impeccable attention to detail and good manual dexterity

Ability to follow a formula and comfortable working with caustic solutions and fragrances

Science/math skills sufficient to learn soap-making chemistry and to resize formulas

Familiarity with and ability to adhere to Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetic Products and other Canadian regulations pertaining to handmade soap and body care products

Good time management skills and ability to work independently, efficiently and under pressure

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to approximately 25 kg)

Must have own transportation.

Willing to sign non-disclosure/non-compete agreement

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
